Relief

I am relieved
Can’t fake a whole lifetime of ramblin’
In speeches and songs.
I, I’ve been here before
I heard her footsteps, quiet, in the morning
When she walked out my door.
Then I was feeling low
Felt like orphan when I woke up
Filthy and worn.
And now,
I think it best to move on
For how can we mend the worthless,
And make something meaningful/beautiful?
I need anyone
To make heart in this heartless old place
And free my soul
But places they change
And I won’t remain here, no no no
Won’t be here for long
And the day keep changing, the world keep turning
Sun keep your shine from the valleys, to the mountains, to my home.
And I don’t need anyone
So when you leave, leave the cold in your eyes
Leave your harsh melody.
Sipping on lilac wine,
Where is my love?
Get high to get by and forget time
To remain and not run.
Cause places they change
I prey for those places I love
And the ones I’ve known well
Places they change
If you need anybody when you’re low
I’ve been there before

Just Like Me

In thick air, it remains
And even in the rain
Move like a train,
And sing like one too
Point the toes towards the road, always
Simple and plain
And change with the season
I don’t have the words
No, not anymore
They’ve been gone since she’s gone
And it’s emptied out me
Early in the day
I look to the sky
Even if I pour like rain
And babble like water
And just as the sun
Falls down from the sky
Lay restless and hot
In sweaty dark shadows
But not alone, oh no
A fool like me
Move when the seasons change
And now I don’t have the words
No, not at all
Just been thinkin’ about the season
And the weather outside
Think I’d like to wonder off westward
With wine stains on my teeth
Though I’m quite fond of New England
And the rest of the east
I’d like to find myself in freedom
Wherever I be
Up late at night
Burrowed in my room
Remain in the evening
For as long as the moon
I was thinkin’ about the past
And the people I knew
Some strangely beautiful
Some untamed and foolish
And most I haven’t the words to describe
I supposed she danced good
Cause the way that she move
Strangely uneven
She go-
Walks alone late at night
Cause she needs a new high
Like I need a new girl
Like I new pair of shoes
I think I could die today
And not even care at all
So’s we can finish our glasses
And leave work for the dawn
Then we’ll push off the straps
Tied to our packs
I’d like to go to California
Once the winter comes back
But no, I don’t have the words
No not right now
But the burden remains.
So let in the cool rain
For my babbling brook
Though I feel bout the same.
